Functional Medicine Questions

Functional medicine focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms and chronic health concerns while supporting the whole person.

At State of the Body, we take a deeper approach to wellness by focusing on the root causes behind your symptoms — not just temporary fixes. We combine clinical knowledge with compassionate, personalized care to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered on your journey toward better, long-lasting health.
All recommendations are personalized and may include nutrition, lifestyle modifications, supplements, or wellness strategies depending on your needs and goals.
Expectations and Results
-
Most treatment plans begin with a minimum 90-day commitment, as lasting wellness and root-cause healing take time. Depending on your needs, we may recommend a 6-month or 12-month plan for deeper support, continued progress, maintenance, and follow-up care.
After your initial program is complete, treatment may be extended if additional support is recommended by your provider or requested by you based on your ongoing health goals and progress. Our goal is to provide personalized care that meets you where you are and supports long-term wellness at a pace that feels appropriate for your journey.
-
Every individual is different. Some clients notice improvements within a few weeks, while others may need a few months, depending on their unique health profile.
Healing is a process, and our team will support you with ongoing guidance, assessments, and care.
-
Not every patient requires advanced testing, but lab work may be recommended when appropriate to better understand underlying contributors to symptoms.
-
Supplement recommendations are based on your lab results, symptoms, and health goals. We only recommend high-quality, evidence-based supplements designed to correct deficiencies, support healing, and optimize function.
If you do not feel comfortable taking supplementation, we can discuss other potential options with the understanding it may impact your overall results.
-
Although our approach focuses heavily on nutrition, lifestyle, and root-cause support — when appropriate, conventional therapies such as prescriptions may also be recommended, depending on the nature and severity of your condition.
